Father's Day Celebration - Teppanyaki at Hanayoshi Kristal Point

Whenever we craze Teppanyaki, Hanayoshi is where we will go, firstly because it's quite close to home and more importantly because we simply just like the Teppanyaki there. To top it off, the chef is also very friendly and will give in to our requests for some special Teppanyaki 'stunts' etc. :)

See my previous post on Hanayoshi here.

We decided to take dad to a Teppanyaki meal at Hanayoshi for an early Father's Day celebration. As usual, the meal was satisying. We ordered a few Teppanyaki sets to share with a combination of oysters, beef rolls, fish (salmon and cod), chicken, prawns, cuttlefish, vegetables etc. The sets come with an appetizer, salad, miso soup, chawan mushi, fruits and rice. We also ordered our favourite garlic rice and cold soba from the ala-carte menu. The total bill came to around RM310 for 8 pax.

Xian Ding Wei Taiwanese Tea Room at Queensbay Mall (revisited)

I have received quite a number of hits on my blog for my previous post on Xian Ding Wei so I guess this eatery is gaining quite a lot of popularity and interests lately.

We were back at the place again recently, this time with my parents. It was a Saturday and the place was still as packed as when it just opened.

Hubs ordered the 'Taiwanese Supreme Chicken in Three Variety of Sauces' set while dad and I ordered one of the 'Teppanyaki Seafood and Pork in Hot Pot' set each. Mom opted for the 'Thai Chicken' set (RM17.90).

Taiwanese Supreme Chicken in Three Variety of Sauces (RM18.90)

Teppanyaki Seafood and Pork in Hot Pot (RM29.90)

Dragon Fruit Juice RM5.90

Rosebuds with Wintermelon Tea RM4.90
Overall I think mom and dad enjoyed the food and ambiance. Hubs and I were pleasantly surprised with the 'Taiwanese Supreme Chicken in Three Variety of Sauces' set. I would highly recommended this set to anyone who wants to try Xian Ding Wei's specialties.

Teppanyaki Ice Cream - Latest Recipe at Le Meridien KL

We were at the Latest Recipe Restaurant for the dinner buffet (RM88++ per pax) but unfortunately we did not really take any photos.

However, the Teppanyaki ice cream is worth mentioning here as you can hardly find it elsewhere. The Teppanyaki ice cream is prepared on a cold plate and ingredients are folded into the ice cream - Teppanyaki style. You can ask the chef to include anything from nuts to dried fruits to chocolate etc. There are apparently over 40 ingredients to choose from.

Hanayoshi

We have been to Soba Yoshi / Hanayoshi many times but we decided to go back there for Teppanyaki.

Appetizer

We ordered four Combi Teppanyaki sets (RM48 per set) which consist of chicken, scallop, prawn, beef, salmon, cod and oyster.

We were asked to don a dark blue apron before the chef started the cooking.

We took a few shots of the Teppanyaki chef in action:

Beef

Chicken

Garlic Rice (RM6 per bowl)

Scallop, Oyster

Vegetables

Prawns, Chicken, Salmon, Cod

We also ordered the Deep Fried Fish Cake with Cheese (RM12) and Sashimi Tei set (RM24).

Overall the visit was an enjoyable dining experience with the Teppanyaki chef entertaining us with his skills at the Teppanyaki station. We absolutely loved the buttery and garlicky flavour of the Teppanyaki meat, seafood and garlic rice.
