Baan Laksasubha Hua Hin - A Home Away from Home

We stayed at Baan Laksasubha during our recent holiday in Hua Hin in July. Baan Laksasubha consists of 16 two-story villas within a landscaped garden setting, each with a private balcony. The white washed villas give Baan Laksasubha a clean and pristine feel and are ideal for families and holiday makers who prefer a more private and homey resort.

The resort is also great for its location, being near to major attractions e.g. the Night Market and food outlets yet sheltered from the hustle and bustle of the main road.

Baan Laksasubha is founded and owned by M.L. Laksasubha Kridakon who is the great grand daughter of HRH Prince Krisda Bhiniharn Krom Phra Naresra Varariddhi. The Prince was the first member of the Thai royal family who built his palace here in Hua Hin as his ‘summer home’ for his family members. We opted for the Garden Veranda room with a large balcony with sunbeds. The room is also very spacious with a day bed and large bathroom. Hotel facilities include a small pool, a spa (call to book appointment) and a Kids Corner.

Breakfast is simple on weekdays with a selection of eggs served with bacon, sausages, grilled potatoes and tomatoes. During weekends when there is higher occupancy, buffet breakfast is served.



We booked this place based on the good ratings from TripAdvisor. Overall it was a great stay at Baan Laksasubha. One thing to note is ice and DVD is chargeable which we found a bit ridiculous, given the price we paid for a room at this resort.

Hua Hin Tourist Attractions

This is the second of my three posts on our travel in Hua Hin. In this post I will cover the tourist attractions in this famous beach resort town. (See first post on Hua Hin food here)

The Hua Hin Market Village is a shopping mall in Hua Hin which opened in February 2006. It is the first shopping and entertainment complex of such size in the beach resort town. The mall houses Tesco Lotus, a Home Pro outlet, a cineplex, an arcade hall, a bowling alley and scores of restaurants and shops.

Luang Por Tuad is a very famous monk in Thailand for his miracles. Throngs of Thai people visit Wat Huay Mongkol which houses a large statue of Luang Por Tuad to pay respect and seek protection from Luang Por.

The Hua Hin night market is another must visit when is Hua Hin. Famous among tourists, the night market boasts stalls selling freshly cooked food, souvenirs and clothings.

Cha'Am is another famous beach resort town not far from Hua Hin town. The Cha'Am beach will not go unnoticed with the strings of deckchairs and parasols lined along the beach, an amniety provided by hotels along the beach or rented by vendors to tourists. A host of activities are offered from pony rides on the beach to banana boat rides to waterskiing, windsurfing and parasailing etc.

The Hua Hin Railway Station is a famous tourist attraction in Hua Hin. It is one of the oldest railway station in Thailand. Its most striking feature is the Royal Waiting Room in Thai architectural style. Khao Takiab or "Chopstick Mount" is a hill located south of the town of Hua Hin. At the foot of the hill is a statue of the 20m tall Lord Buddha. On top of the hill, you will find the Wat Khao Lad temple and a 10m tall statue of the Chinese Goddess of Mercy amongst others. There are many seafood restaurants around Khao Takiab.

If shopping is on your mind, head on to the  many factory outlets near Hua Hin on the way back to Bangkok. We did two stops, one at the Fly Now (FN) factory outlet and another at Premium Outlet. These factory outlets offer clothes produced for the European market at discounted prices.
