If you notice, we have been regulars at Hainanese Delights, mostly because the family likes the good and authentic Hainanese food served here. Please see our other post on Hainanese Delights here.
The purpose of this visit is to try their Hainanese Chicken Rice. Talk about Hainanese food and the first thing that springs to mind is the chicken rice. Hainanese Delights has received thumbs up so far from almost everyone in hubs’ Hainanese family but we haven’t tried the chicken rice yet. Thus, the chicken rice test will be the acid test for the ultimate Hainanese dining for our family in Penang. :)
True enough, Hainanese Delights did not disappoint us in the chicken rice department. To start with, the chili and ginger sauce was very fresh with lots of lime. The rice was fragrant and the steamed chicken tender and juicy. They also serve the chicken with my favourite chicken liver. :)
Apart from the chicken rice, we also ordered our other favourites at Hainanese Delights.
Hainanese Chicken Stew RM25 |
Inchee Kay Bin RM30 |
Macaroni Pie (Small) RM12 |
Fried Vegetables RM20 |
Overall it was a very fulfilling (and filling!) meal. We were filled to the brim! There were only seven of us but look at the amount of food we ordered. The owner Mr JP Wong was his usual attentive self, personally serving us together with his brother who has recently retired from the airline industry.
They were also so kind to give us complimentary Hainanese Curry Puffs. And what better way to end a satisfying meal at Hainanese Delights than with their Kopi Luwak and home made biscotti. Heavenly.. :)

Coffee and Bake RM8 |
