Tune Hotel, LCCT

We recently stayed at Tune Hotels KLCC during a transit back to Penang. As their tagline suggests, you can expect a no-frills hotel with their selling points: 5-star beds, power showers, central and convenient locations, cleanliness and 24-hour security.

The room is small, just enough for a queen size bed and some room to walk around the bed. There is a collapsible table mounted to the wall. The good thing is the bed is firm and comfortable (high quality spring mattress beds with pillows, pillowcases, bed sheets and 250-thread count duvets as claimed by their website) and they have high pressure heated shower (somewhat like rain shower) in the attached bathroom. The room was quite new and clean since they were opened only recently.

The rooms come standard with ceiling fan or pay an additional RM13.49 for 12-hour credits for air-conditioning or RM21 for 24 hours (price including tax). The good thing is they have free internet access at the lobby to kill time else it may be a bit claustrophobic to stay in the room if you have nothing to do (no TV in room). Hair dryer usage is chargable at RM1 per stay. They don't provide towels and toiletries but towel rental is available at RM5 with free Essentials shower basics kit (1 sachet conditioning shampoo + 1 sachet shower gel + 1 soap bar).

There are a few oultets at the hotel i.e. 7-Eleven, Ole Cafe, Passage Thru Asia (Asian), Layla Massage and Asia Mart (magazine and bookstore). Tune Hotel is a good and cheaper option if you just need a basic room and shower if you are in transit at LCCT or KLIA. There is shuttle service to LCCT and KLIA at RM1.
One thing they need to improve is making the sign for the pick up point at KLIA or LCCT more visible. We had to ask some five people before we found the pick up point at LCCT :(

We paid RM142.08 for the room, with 12-hour air-cond credit, admin fee, service tax, service charge, towel rental and free essentials kit. It may not be very cheap depending on when you book and whether it is a peak / off-peak period.
