We had our team's Chinese New Year lunch at the famous CRC Restaurant.
The restaurant seems to have a serious parking issue especially during festive season as it took us very long to find parking space and some of us had to resort to parking very far from the restaurant.
We ordered the RM888++ menu for 10 pax with an additional dish of roast chicken ala-carte.
Good Fortune "Yee Sang"
This was an interesting dish. It was supposed to be "Pun Choi" but served in a different way on a porcelain tray instead of layered in a deep bowl. There was an abundance of ingredients e.g. abalone, sea cucumber, dried oyster, dried scallop, mushroom etc. Very tasty indeed.
I am not a fan of suckling pig but the restaurant just wouldn't swap with anything else eventhough we were willing to go for something cheaper like roast chicken etc. Since our intention was to try the "Pun Choi" and this was the only set menu with it, we had no choice but to go ahead with the suckling pig. :(
Roast Chicken (ala-carte RM35)
The fish meat texture was smooth.
The noodle was done al-dente and everybody enjoyed it. The restaurant ran out of Glutinous Rice with Waxed Meat which was supposed to come with the set and replaced it with the noodle so it was a blessing in disguise.
I am a fan of almond tea and this one was not too sweet so it was a good thing.
The "Nian Kao" was a tad oily but delicious :)
