Home's Cafe is apparently the "off-spring" of Lian Thong coffee shop which is claimed to be one of the oldest coffee shops in Malaysia. Lian Thong's origin is in Ipoh and Home's Cafe has just joined the likes of 'modern' coffee shops which has sprouted in Penang recently (e.g. Old Town, Roti Bakar Kopitiam, Island Red Cafe, Georgetown, White House Coffee, Mainstreet etc.)


It has just opened at the new D'Piazza Mall, a stone throw away from Sunshine Square and Mayang Mall. The ambiance is cozy with marble top round tables normally found at traditional coffee shops.




They serve most of the usual food that you will find at 'modern' coffee shops with some variations e.g. Nasi Lemak, Prawn Mee, Assam Laksa, Curry Mee, Ipoh Hor Fun, Tom Yam Cintan Noodle Soup, Western fares e.g. Chicken Chop, Fish & Chips, Toasts and Eggs etc. They also serve a variety of flavoured white coffee, ice blended drinks etc.

The Prawn Mee was full of flavours and is worth a try. As for the Ipoh Hor Fun, I still prefer the Old Town version.

The Orange White Coffee was a special twist from the normal white coffee. Definitely worth a try.
