El Mondo Italian & Western Cuisine

If you have read my previous posts on Habana (here and here), you will notice how much we liked the food served there. We were quite dissapointed when we found out that they ceased operation some time in June 2009.

The good news is, we just found out that the food at Habana was actually supplied by the El Mondo Italian and Western Cuisine restaurant at Kristal Point all along. So, El Mondo's menu is almost exactly the same as the Habana menu :)

Restaurant interior

The El Mondo menu is quite elaborate with pages and pages of Italian and Western cuisine to choose from.

Mushroom Soup
Homemade cream of mushroom soup

Seafood Soup
Italian style seafood soup with an abundance of seafood e.g. prawns, calamari, clams, mussel and fish. The soup is tomato-based with saffron, chili and spinach.

Quattro Stagioni
4 quarters of pizza with chicken, ham, tuna, mushrooms & prawns (RM25.90)

They claimed in their flyer that they have sold over 30,000 thin crust, hand tossed and freshly baked pizzas. They have quite a variety of pizza toppings to choose from.

The Quattro Stagioni didn't turn out to be as good as we expected. I will try other toppings in the future.

Spaghetti Con Pesto E Gamberoni
Spaghetti with pesto sauce, prawns & parmesan cheese

I have always liked their Spaghetti Con Pesto E Gamberoni. The pasta can be a tad too bland for some so just add some salt. When given the feedback, a staff (who may be the owner) explained that they intentionally made the spaghetti less salty as some prefer it that way. We were advised to add salt if need be.

Chicken Cordon Bleu
Chicken breast stuffed with cheese and ham, breaded and served with mushroom cream sauce, butter rice and vegetables

A very special way of serving Chicken Cordon Blue. Worth a try.

Fettucine Carbonara
Fettucine with chicken ham, mushroom, cream and parmesan cheese

They are currently running a promotion where you add on RM1.90 to add a drink (coffee or tea) and dessert (one scoop of ice cream).

Happy Birthday Angie & Hin :)

P/S: I didn't keep the receipt so I forgot the price breakdown for each of the food item. The total bill came to around RM140.
