Max Gourmet Restaurant is a famous spot for dim sum in the Bayan Lepas area. The restaurant at Bayan Bay is an expansion to their existing outlet at Bangunan Lip Sin which is enjoying equally as brisk a business. They have also just opened at new outlet at Gurney Plaza recently.

Louk Pout Chrysanthemum Tea (RM1.20)
The restaurant has quite an elaborate menu with their specialty being Cantonese food and dim sum. They are also famous for their bento sets from five different places e.g. Hong Kong, Malaysia, Japan, Thailand and Europe. They have wan tan noodle, Hong Kong roasted / fried rice, crispy noodle / noodle, healthy drinks, baked or steamed dim sum, baked rice, fried snacks, among others, in their menu
Hong Kong Style Shrimp Dumpling Soup (RM7.90)
Steamed Garoupa Fish with Hor Fun (RM10.90)
This was my favourite and a specialty at this restaurant. The garoupa was fresh and the thick soup base was full of ginger.
Sha Ke Ma (RM1.50)
Porridge with Dried Scallop and Century Egg (RM3.00)
The porridge was laden with ingredients. A recommended dish at this restaurant.
Steamed Egg Skin Roll (RM3)
Crispy Roasted Pork Noodle (RM6.90)
We also packed some food for takeaway for the family:
Deep Fried You Cha Kuih with Meat (RM5.90)
Stir Fried Radish Cake with Prawn (RM6.90)
Portuguese Style Baked Golden Bun (RM6.90)
Deep Fried You Cha Kuih with Meat (RM5.90)
Stir Fried Radish Cake with Prawn (RM6.90)
Portuguese Style Baked Golden Bun (RM6.90)
Overall, food was very good and value-for-money. Max Gourmet is a restaurant that I will frequent for a quick dim sum fix and other good Cantonese dishes.
