Golden Phoenix is a Szechuan and Cantonese restaurant at the Equatorial Hotel in Penang. They also serve dim sum during lunch hour.
We were there on Sunday to celebrate Father's Day with grandpa. We haven't been to Golden Phoenix for a while and we found a noticeable improvement in the dim sum quality and the service of the crew. Every dim sum dish we ordered was good. The Tan Tatt (Egg Custard Tarts), Char Siew Soo (Baked Cripsy Chicken Rolls) and Char Siew Pau (Minced BBQ Chicken Dumplings) were my personal favourites. The only miss was the Far Sang Wu (Peanut Mousse) which was a tad too sweet for our taste.
They even presented grandpa with a Father's Day gift at the end of the meal. Happy Father's Day Grandpa!!!
